Create menus for each market

You can build several independent menus and show each one only in the markets you choose — for example, a different navigation for your US store and your European store. Markets come from Shopify Settings → Markets.

1

Create a new menu

Open Menus and click the "+" button to create a new menu.

2

Name the menu

Give the menu a name and an optional description, then click "Save". The new menu is created as a Draft.

3

Build the menu

Click "Customize" to build the menu for that market, then save your changes.

4

Open publishing options

Back on the Menus page, open the "..." menu of that menu and choose Publish on markets.

5

Add a market

In the "Publish for selected markets" dialog, click "+ Add market".

6

Select markets

Tick the markets this menu should appear in, then click "Done". You can search by market name or ID if you have a long list.

7

Publish the menu

Check the markets listed next to "Selected markets" and click "Publish".

8

Repeat for each dedicated market menu

Repeat steps 1–7 for every market you want a dedicated menu for. Each menu is stored separately, so editing one never affects the others.

Good to know

  • If no market is selected, the menu will not be visible anywhere. Select at least one market, or use Publish global to show the menu in every market.

  • Use Publish on mobile when a menu should only replace the mobile navigation — see Publish a second menu for mobile only.

  • A market must exist in Shopify before it appears in the list. Create it in Settings → Markets first.

  • Assign each market to one menu only. If two published menus target the same market, the result on the storefront is not predictable.
